11 Day Darwin to Broome Getaway
Pre planning:
There is a quarantine crossing into Western Australia. No fresh fruit, vegetables or honey is allowed.
All vehicles must be returned to Darwin
Day 1
Pick you up the car from your Darwin and make our first stop at Adelaide river. Then continue on towards Katherine and stop at Edith Falls for a refreshing swim then in the afternoon explore Katherine Gorge.

Day 2
Start today with a hike into the Victoria River escarpments to see some of the unique rock paintings on the Joe Creek walk and breathtaking scenery in Jubarra National Park. Then continue to the Gregory Tree and then onto visit Keep River National Park and learn about some of the local Aboriginal history at Gingers Hill. Then make your way to the Goorrandalng Walk to admire the sandstone escarpment and masses of Livistonia palms.

Day 3
Start the day crossing the Western Australian border with either hiring a kayak at Lake Argyle or jump on a morning cruise with Lake Argyle cruises. Then make your way into Kununurra then continue to Five Rivers Lookout and onto Marlgu Billabong to see the huge numbers of birdlife and the big resident salt water crocodile. Finish the day watching the sunset from telegraph hill

Day 4
Make your way to Bungle Bungles. It’s a rugged track in with many creek crossings and corrugations take your time travelling in as its nice scenery through the Osmund Ranges. Check out Mini Palms Gorge in the afternoon.

Day 5
Start with sunrise in the Bungle Bungles in Piccaninny Creek then explore the gorges and domes of the Bungle Bungles. Then take a helicopter flight to see the Bungle Ranges from the air. After a day of exploring, make your way to Echidna chasm.

Day 6
Head to Emma Gorge then onto El Questro Station for a sunset from one of their many lookouts

Day 7
Head for a dip at Zebedee Springs then onto El Questro Gorge. Check water depth crossing before proceeding. It’s a short walk from the watercrossing if its to deep for cars to the start of gorge. Then make your way to Chamberlian Gorge.

Day 8
Travel the Gibb making a stop in at Ellen Brae Station then onto Manning Gorge. Note: if planning to go to Mitchell Plateau/Falls allow 3 days extra

Day 9
Explore Manning Gorge in the morning then make your way Galvins gorge
Overnight Silent Grove
Day 10
Explore Bell Gorge then onto Windjana Gorge for the afternoon for a swim and walk across the sandy riverbeds. Keep an eye out for freshwater crocodiles.

Day 11
Grab your torches and head down to Tunnel Creek before heading onto Derby and then into the pearling town of Broome.
Please note that all bookings with Getaway Rentals must start and finish in Darwin, Northern Territory, so if you are planning to head over to Broome you. Must drop the vehicle back to Darwin.
